The problem
A Speed Queen washer had begun leaving clothes soaked at the end of the spin cycle, and the matching dryer was taking two full cycles to dry a load.
What we did
On the washer we found a partially blocked drain pump and a worn drive belt. On the dryer, the vent run to the exterior was heavily restricted with lint — a genuine fire risk as well as the cause of the long cycles. We cleared the pump, replaced the belt, and cleaned the full vent run.
The outcome
Both machines returned to normal cycle times. The dryer vent restriction had been the actual problem rather than any fault in the appliance itself.
